Bad Translator!

This useful idea came from the Make Use of Blog. I knew I would lose the link between now and when I needed it – so I figured I should write a short blog post.

Bad Translator will take an English phrase and translate it multiple times in many languages providing the resulting phrase. It magnifies the flaws of using an online translator. It is quick and painless, so it will make the perfect ‘just in time’ activity when students ask why they can’t just use a translator. This is a yearly occurrence, normally when the first project in Spanish is assigned.

About Lisa Butler

Middle school geography teacher, tech trainer, Flocabulary MC, Nearpod PioNear, and Edcamp Hershey Founder. I have embraced the power of purposeful technology and am creative with their application. If I am not doing something with ed or tech, I am probably reading children's books, baking with a toddler sidekick, running around, or dreaming of traveling.
